Neutral
(clear) wax polish
was used to bring
out the shine and
protect it from the
ravages of weather.
Please do not handle
with wet or moist
hands. Occasional
light applicarion
neutral wax, wood
or leather polish
(especially in winter)
will help retain the
shine and protect
the wood from changes
in temperature.
- How
do you go about
polishing?
Use
a small or 2"
clean paint brush
to apply a light coat
of polish to the craft.
Allows five to ten
minutes then wipe
with a dry cotton
cloth in circular
motions. As you do
this, you'll see the
shine return to the
artwork. Please note
that it is only our
pieces that will guarantee
such as shine because
of the initial hand
finishing.
In
temperate environment,
tropical hardwoods
are susceptible to
thermal changes. The
larger the hardwood,
the more susceptible
it is to thermal shock.
However , for wood
that has been well
seasoned through the
years of air drying
or good kiln drying,
thermal reaction is
usually very minimal
unlike the huge splits
and cracks that are
easily visible in
"green"
or wet wood carvings.
Avoid exposure to
extremes of temperature,
for example, close
proximity to heaters
, high wattage electrical
lamps,cold fall or
winter wind, direct
blast of air conditioner
or direct rays of
the summer sun. Do
not store in the trunk
of a car parked in
the summer sun. |
